Today I’m sharing a more personal post with you – after lots of recipes, home and diy posts, there’s some family updates to share! It’s been a while, so let’s brew a nice coffee and sit down for a coffee and ‘chat’ together 🙂
First of all, let’s get started with the main star of the show: we are expecting another tiny human being to join our family this autumn! We are overjoyed and so thankful for this life given to us. I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant and feeling good – although the first few months have had it’s challenges. You might have noticed a few delayed posts here and there, as it was all a little much and exhaustion kicked in. Now you know why it was a little quiet on here at times!
I’m over the moon yet also a little apprehensive at times – all those feelings and emotions + the hormones…To add another precious soul to our responsibility is no small thing, yet I know that there will be grace for that new season to come! Trusting that my capacity will grow and that I will learn to let go of the things I can’t do and focus on those things that are right in my hands 🙂
In other news…our once tiny little baby girl is growing full force and this weekend we will be celebrating her second birthday! It will look very different from her first birthday (see link for photos and fun details) as the pandemic still limits us from inviting lots of people, but we will celebrate nonetheless! I’ll be baking a fun cake for her, have a present or two and we will celebrate with a few close family members. It’s going to be special and I’m looking forward to marking this moment in her life.
I hope you are doing well during this strange and maybe challenging season. Maybe you’ve been hit hard by these circumstances with regards to your own health, maybe loved ones have been affected or you’ve lost your job. Maybe you’ve got school aged kids that have been stuck at home and you are beyond desperate for a little space. Or maybe you’ve actually enjoyed being at home more, and things are going well for you. However you are finding yourself, I want to encourage you to take heart – this will pass and there’s so much more ahead of us than what’s behind us. Stay positive, speak words of life and try to see the little everyday things to be thankful for. Cultivating a thankful & positive attitude is one of those things I’m working towards myself and I believe it’s one of the greatest gifts we can give to those around us.
I did want to write a little note to all of you who are longing for new life or are suffering from loss – I see you and I feel you, even though I have no full understanding of the pain you might be in. I often keep on wondering why I’m ever so lucky to be gifted with a new pregnancy while some of my friends are waiting and waiting – either for the right person or for that life to form. My heart goes out to you and although I don’t know what the future holds for you – I pray you will find courage to keep going strong.
